Frequently Asked Questions

What does all-risk (ICC A) coverage include?

ICC A Terms is the broadest marine cargo insurance available, covering most physical loss or damage to cargo from external causes during transit, including handling, weather, theft, and accidents—with limited standard exclusions (war, willful misconduct, inherent vice).

No, but it’s strongly recommended. Carrier liability under international conventions is very limited (often only a few hundred dollars per package), regardless of actual cargo value. Insurance protects your full investment.

Premium is based on declared cargo value (typically CIF — Cost + Insurance + Freight), commodity type, transit route, and packaging. We’ll provide an exact quote for your shipment.

Coverage usually runs warehouse-to-warehouse: from the moment cargo leaves origin until it arrives at the final destination, including inland transport, ocean transit, and storage during normal transit.

Notify us immediately of any visible damage or loss, document with photos, retain damaged goods, and we’ll guide you through paperwork with the insurer. Most claims are resolved within 30-60 days.

Both options are available. Single-shipment certificates work for occasional shippers; open/annual policies offer better rates for frequent shippers.
